  • is the application process for applying to kindergarten in New York City.
  • Only children who were born in 2015 are eligible to apply for kindergarten 2020-2021.
  • The application period will begin in December 2019 and the deadline to apply is  January 21, 2020.
  • You can also apply over the phone by calling (718) 935-2009 or in person at the Family Welcome Center located at 388 West 125th Street, 7thFloor, Room 713.

  • Offer letters will be sent to families in April 2020. Pre-Registration will be in April 2020.
  • Please visit the NYC Department of Education website at to sign up for the Kindergarten admissions email list. They will provide deadlines and event information.
  • Once you receive the kindergarten placement letter and are accepting the seat, please CLICK HERE to schedule an appointment to register your child.
  • If your child has been waitlisted, we will contact you as soon as we reach your child’s name on our wait list.
  • If you live in the PS 199 zone and would like to register your child, please email the Parent Coordinator at Include your contact information, home address, child’s name, date of birth and name of current school.
  • Please note, we are a zoned school (current zone map)
  • Your zoned school is determined by your home address.
